Rape is an occupational hazard… One more Bad decision, another couple of years of Bullshit. When is it going to hit the fan? Why do they have courts if they won’t fight crime? Is this Judge the problem, or the whole Justice system?

A lawsuit was filed in federal court on behalf of 18 men and women seeking to bring former Secretaries of Defence Donald Rumsfeld and Robert Gates to justice. The lawsuit alleges that they oversaw a system that has deprived rape survivors of their constitutional rights. In December 2011, the court dismissed the survivors' lawsuit, ruling that rape is an occupational hazard of military service."

May 2013,the time has finally come that rape is no longer going to be tolerated in our military, maybe. It might be that the commander and chief could be just sounding off to quell a crisis after the public was outraged by the showing of the documentary The Invisible War. We haven’t heard any more details. You would think the president should be able to do something he is in charge of the military isn’t he? The problem hasn’t got the attention it deserves in the other parts of our government.

1.         The judge Liam O’Grady United States District Alexandria, Virginia could have fixed the problem. Secretary of Defense is a civilian position just like the president. They oversee the military and its policy. We need to fix the Judiciary by removing this person from making any more decisions. In our opinion he should be replaced for ignoring the plight of so many soldiers and condemning countless more to continue to suffer, But Federal judges can only be removed by impeachment by the House of Representatives and conviction by the Senate. A judge may be impeached by a simple majority of the House of Representatives and removed from office if convicted by a vote of two-thirds of the Senate at a special trial, but only for the same types of offenses that would trigger impeachment proceedings for any other government official. Judges cannot be removed from office simply because someone doesn't like their rulings or ideology.

2.         Jackie Speier a Democrat from California District 14 sponsored H.R. 3435  it was introduced Nov 16, 2011 (112th Congress, 2011–2013). The bill was referred to the House Armed Services committee and then subcommittee Military Personnel where it died.

3.         This bill was re-introduced as H.R. 1593 on Apr 17, 2013. The bill was assigned to the same people in the House Armed Services committee, subcommittee Military Personnel as before, which will consider it before possibly sending it on to the House or Senate as a whole. The committee chair determines whether a bill will move past the committee stage. The bottom line Joe Wilson a Republican from South Carolina 2nd District is the committee chair of Military Personnel so he must be the problem. We hope he does the right thing soon. If you can persuade him or have his fellow congressmen do it, Please help it’s a worthy cause. Think about it 33 % or one in three women in the military will be raped or sexually assaulted by a colleague or superior during her career.
